On Friday January 15, the Central California Regional Obesity Prevention Project (CCROPP) youth council in partnership with the KNOW youth media group lead a series of brainstorming sessions for a Building Healthy Communities youth workshop. The Building Healthy Communities project is a 10-year plan with the goal to support the development of communities where kids and youth are healthy, safe and ready to learn. The workshop included a group of 40 urban Fresno youth gathered at a local boys & girls club to discuss possible solutions on a variety of health issues including childhood/youth obesity, youth violence, and school attendance. Youth representatives will share the young peoples’ ideas gathered from the workshop with the larger Building Healthy Communities planning team
