BHC Youth Engagement Team takes Action!

On November 20, 2010, the Building Healthy Communities Youth Engagement Team came together to clean up the Mosqueda Community Center and park in Southeast Fresno. Over 90 youth and community members from around Fresno removed graffiti, scrubbed playground equipment, raked leaves, and picked up trash. "It is important for children in the neighborhood to play in a clean and healthy environment," said YET member Miguel Bibanco. The project contributed to BHC efforts as well Serve Fresno Day. Youth also coordinated a Thanksgiving canned food drive and donated the food to neighborhood families. After all the hard work the community celebrated with a BBQ and raffle. The event concluded with games, and dancing.
