The Urban Fresno’s Friday Night Live (FNL) Chapters apply environmental prevention strategies to reduce alcohol access, consumption, and promotion among young people. Most recently the chapters are confronting the issue of "AlcoEnergy" drinks, sugary energy drinks mixed with alcohol commonly marketed to youth. Using data collected from peers and liquor store observations, the youth developed a store merchant flier, fridge window sticker and letter of support that informs merchants, consumers and local elected officials of the dangers and misconceptions AlcoEnergy drinks. Currently, the youth are in the process of planning a community forum to raise awareness, share findings and recommendations, and gather community input on the issue.
