On January 28, the owner of Latino Market, AJ Hussain, was awarded the Regional Cultivator Award for creating a healthier food environment from The Central California Obesity Prevention Project. Seven months ago YLI youth transformed Latino Market into a community asset where local residents can purchase fresh and affordable produce. AJ was recognized by the community for maintaining the healthy changes and becoming a WIC certified vendor.
